Building Show Carriers
This carrier is big enough for two small breed rabbits
(up to about 5 lbs each) or one larger rabbit

Many shows require these, and they allow your bunny plenty of air when traveling.
These are not as compact as commercially made carriers, but they work quite well, and the
extra depth on the box helps prevent accidents in the car!
We buy a roll of wire for about $120 so there is about $6-7 of wire
and about the same for the box- making a 2 cage carrier cost about $15

You will need:
28 quart sterilite container
about 60-70 inches of ½" x 1" - 24" wide welded wire
J clips and pliers
Sides
Cut a piece 31 ½ " long (63 spaces on the ½" grid) x 24" wide
Cut this piece in half leaving two 11" wide pieces (you will cut one wire from the center)
Bend at 12 ½ inches(25- ½" squares) to leave two L shaped pieces. Face them together to make
a rectangle and fasten at the edges.

Bottom
19" wide(19 -1" divisions) by 12 ½" long (25- ½" divisions)
The bottom piece is ringed in place 2 inches from the bottom. This holds the bunnies up out of their mess, and
allows you to put some sort of absorbent material underneath them so they don't slosh over in the car.

Lid-
Cut 24" wide by 14 ½" wide
Edges are bent 2" down on 3 sides, and ringed loosely to the cage along the unbent side.

Divider-
The divider can be cut from galvanized sheet metal or wire
it will be 9 inches tall and 12.5 inches wide. This piece is easiest
to install with c rings.

This cage should fit snuggly down into a 28 quart flat sterilite container (we got it at walmart)
We get our welded wire at Albright's Steel (Enid and OKC)

Note: this is for SMALL breeds like the Jersey wooly and Fuzzy Lop.
If you leave out the divider a larger bunny will fit.
